October 24th 2015

Play was very even and played at a fast pace in the first twenty minutes with Accies taking the initiative following clever ball winning and threequarters handling for wing James Gahan to score in the 27th minute. Two more Accies tries followed in the 33rd and 37th minutes as winger Rory Hammond completed bouts of skilful  counter attacking rugby.Outside Half  Geraint Llewellyn converted only the last of these tries. The Blues had their moments as well, when first centre George Griffith failed to ground the ball in diving under the Accies posts, and then from an inspired counter attack from their 25 line, Outside Half George Williams scored and converted his own try.
Within minutes of the second half restart, Accies from clever counter attacking  scored another try from wing  James Gahan  converted by Geraint Llewellyn.Strengthened  by replacements the Blues were galvanised into all out attack with the Accies defending bravely. The Blues were rewarded  with well worked tries from fullback Angus Strachan and wing Andy Rees and a conversion from George Williams. With the Blues impetus waning, Accies found new energy for Rory Hammond  to score an unconverted try in the 73 rd minute. With the Blues pressing in the Accies half, centre Toby Fricker emerged through a ruck to score a brilliant fifty yard  touch line  try for  Geraint Llewellyn to convert. Two minutes later the final whistle was blown for Accies to win the game 36 points to 19points.
